4th of July 2010

We were lucky this 4th of July to have Grandma, Grandpa and Dasha visiting. The kids love having people come more than anything. I had to get some cute pictures of them in their red, white and blue church clothes. Luckily we had a couple outfits for Tate because he kept getting his clothes dirty. We spent most of the day relaxing and just being together. Grandpa taught Abi how to play Checkers and she's actually REALLY good at it now. We got all ready for the fireworks that night and decided to do something fun with Abi's hair and make a star. We threaded it with glow sticks and she was glowing all night long. I was excited to see how Tate was going to react to the fireworks. We decided to go out to Boulder City this year. We had heard that it was great and we thought we'd give it a try. We weren't disappointed! Tate was asleep when we first got there but I wanted him to have a nap before the show started. Bridger also wanted to take a little nap. The rest of us passed the time by playing some Uno. Abi loves this game. She couldn't wait to play with Grandma and Dasha. Tate woke up and played with Grandpa. Porter and Bridger got their "glow-swords" out to play. They probably weren't the greatest idea because it just encouraged a sword fight. Porter held onto his all night long. It was finally time for the fireworks to start and I was so excited because it was Tate's first time seeing them. At first he got really scared and didn't quite know what to thing. But after a while he started to enjoy it a little bit more - but still wasn't quite comfortable with all of the noise. It was a great show. The fireworks were AWESOME! Here's a picture from the Grand Finale.
Happy Independence Day!

That picture of Bridger napping is hilarious! Your kids looked so cute in all their 4th of July clothing. We were at Boulder City too! I think we will have to go there every year we are here during the 4th. They were great!
