Warning: TONS of pictures to follow....
Last Friday we decided to take advantage of having my parents in town and do something new with them. 
We decided drive up to the Valley of Fire because we've heard such good things about it. 
There's all sorts of natural play areas all within 5 minutes of each other and it was so neat to explore. 
We started out at "Cabins" so we could have our lunch. 
They had a great covered picnic area. 
It's also known for it's sandstone ruins of 3 cabins. 
They were built in the 1930's as a shelter for travelers. 
Hey look, we actually have a picture of our complete family now! Hooray! 
The kids couldn't wait to start exploring and here's some pictures of their fun: 
Matt took off with Tate strapped to him. 
I was fine with that until I saw him sitting in some hole on a "cliff wall". (The picture doesn't do it justice, there's a huge drop right below him and nowhere else to go.) 
After that I took Tate so he wouldn't die! :) 
Matt then grabbed Bridger and took him down in a hole where they practically got stuck! - I used tons of zoom to even get this picture because they were WAY down there. 
After some coaxing from me, Matt decided to only do the dangerous stuff on his own and leave the kids where it was safe.
We also found some cool petroglyphs as we were headed out. 
Next we went over to "Elephant Rock". (Can you see the elephant?) 
The kids got to explore some more here. 
There's so many fun photo opportunities!
Our next stop was "Rainbow Vista" and this was a beautiful lookout area. 
You can see Matt and Bridger way up there looking at the views. 
After that we went to "Mouse Tank". 
There were tons of petroglyphs here too. 
It's amazing to see the ancient maps on the rock. 
Porter even found his name! :) 
We had a nice little hike into the sandstone to find the hidden water pools and we found them! 
We also found a lizard.

It's a place that we'll definitely be back to. 
After coming home and getting dinner, everyone crashed. 
If only Tate would've stayed like this the whole night through. :)

It is such a great place to explore and take photos. I loved seeing your families Valley of Fire photos!
