The Saturday before Halloween we went out to Boulder City to ride the train because kids were free as long as they were in costume.
((French Poodle Abigail, Train Engineer Tate, Train Bridger, & Zorro Porter.)
Our kids love the train so we weren't going to miss out on this opportunity!
Matt and I even dressed up exactly as we looked back when we first met in high school!
(Can I just say how strange it was to wear a cheerleading uniform again. It seems like I practically lived in it for 3 years of my life.)
Everyone was all dressed up at the station and it was so fun. Our ticket-taker even had a voice enhancer so he actually sounded like an alien.
This is the train that we rode on.
They had it all decked out with Halloween decorations and the whole front car was a mini haunted room with skeletons, music, & flashing lights. (Bridger didn't like it in there very much.)
The train got going and the boys were in heaven!
Tate was the most amazed by it all.
People thought he was darling because he was dressed as a train engineer.
We chose to sit in an outside car so we could feel the breeze.
Abi stood by the huge open windows most of the time just taking in the warm beautiful day.
We even saw a hobo trying to hitch a ride and the kids were convinced that this must be The Old Hobo that leaves candy on Valentines Day so they waved like crazy at him.
They had spooky music playing over the speakers in the outside cars.
The kids went to one of the inside cars for a bit too to listen to the scary stories over those speakers.
Here is Abi inside the mail car.
When the ride was over we took some time and looked at a bunch of the other trains they had at the station.
It was like stepping back into time and it was such a fun afternoon!

That's incredible Julie that you can still wear you're cheerleader costume!
