One of our goals was to get our Christmas tree up before Matt had to go to California.
We got to work and had all of our Thanksgiving decorations away and Christmas put out by the end of Monday night.
The kids were so excited to decorate the Christmas tree.
Look at the goofy expressions of excitement on the boys' faces! :) (I think Tate's is more confusion than anything.)
Abi got to help with the more fragile decorations this year.
Bridger went around the tree clumping all the snowmen together in groups.
Porter followed closely behind and spread them all out evenly.
Tate just grabbed random ornaments and set them on branches but at least he was having fun!
The end result was perfect!
The kids were pretty proud of themselves.
The finishing touch was the Polar Express train underneath.
This was the highlight and all the kids took turns driving it - very CAREFULLY! :)
We've started a new tradition this year and it's the infamous "Elf on the Shelf". Our Elf is named Melvin and he's adorable! (I was not a fan of the skinny red one that you always see so we went with an original ZIM's elf.) He's already been up to all sorts of mischief and I'll do a post at the end of the month showing some of his crazy antics. :) The kids wake up every morning so excited to see what Melvin has been up to and to read his daily note. It's been really fun and I can't wait to continue this on from year to year.
