May's Mischief

We have been having all sorts of fun this May.  The weather has been beautiful and summer is on it's way!

School is coming to an end so the kids made teacher appreciation gift to take to school.  Their teachers are o"fish"ally the best!

Luckily homework time will also soon be coming to an end.

Bridger hates this time of the day and often is bored to death!

 

This time of year also bring an end to the sporting season.  Here are the kids with their trophies from Dance and Baseball.

The boys had a final Baseball practice at the park and it turned into a huge water fight.

Abi had fun over at the playground.

Tate was not having as much fun because he had skipped his nap that day!

They had some pizza and drinks as well.

We brought some cupcakes that we made for our final practice.

We also made these fun treats for the coach and assistant coaches.

The team also pitched in and got Coach Chris a nice gift from all the Angry Birds.  He was a great coach! 

One of the kids' favorite warm weather treats are frozen pudding pack popsicles.

They were so excited to make their first batch this month. 

They kind of do get all over but they sure are tasty. 

Bridger actually stayed the cleanest which NEVER happens!

Tate managed to get a little bit everywhere.

That was nothing compared to the next time he had this popsicle treat!

He got pudding pack popsicle EVERYWHERE!

Look how gross his hands were!  At least he enjoyed it I guess.

So Bridger is responsible for this one.  This is what happens when you try to cook 2 mini pancakes in the microwave for 10 minutes when they only require 30 seconds!  The funny part is that it looks like a smiley face!  ha ha

I sometimes dread having to take all the kids grocery shopping with me but the kids love it when we go to Albertsons and they get to push these little carts.  look at us like we're a circus act walking through the store but we still have fun. 

May always brings about the annual Smalley Einstein run over at the elementary.

Abi signed up for both the 5K and the 1 mile and we were so proud of her! 

Matt ran the 5K as well and he did great! 

 He actually placed first out of the men in his age division! 

Matt went back and caught up with Abi and helped her run in to the finish line. 

It was a little harder than she expected but she still placed third out of the girls in her age group!

I wish I had run the 5K with them but someone had to sit with the other kids so I ran the 1 mile with Abi and Porter. 

Porter was awesome and actually finished before Abi.  (Although he hadn't just run 3.1 miles in the 5K!)

Abi has already gone to over 15 birthday parties this year (people in Henderson are crazy about their parties!) but here are some picture of her friend Aidrin's swim party that was just a couple streets over.

The had so much fun swimming and having a water balloon fight.

Abi's got a great little group of friends and she enjoys being with them so much.

Speaking of friends, Abi was lucky enough to have her little cousin Lexi down to visit. 

She and Abi are such great friends and Abi had so much fun with her. 

We enjoyed spending time with Michael and Lark too and Tate really had fun with Lily.

 Porter has had a few parties as well and this one was at his good friend Ryder's house on the next street over.

Ryder and Porter are in the same Kindergarten class and have become great little friends. 

Abi has had a couple dance performances this month and her big final revue is coming up in the first part of June. 

Her dancing has improved so much and she just loves doing it.

I'm glad she has something that she looks forward to and I know she'll miss it over the summer.

 There is an amazing new park that has recently opened up by us so we got a big group of friends together and went to check it out. 

There are several different sections to it and Bridger liked the electronic area the best.  There was interactive equipment that would light up and flash and make all sorts of cool noises.  It was pretty cool. 

He also liked the giant swings.

Probably because he was surrounded by ladies.  :)

Tate's favorite part was the splash pad area.

The little kids could run all over these mazes and then go through the shooting fountains.  What a cool park!  We will definitely be back a bunch!

I am a good wife and let Matt take the boys to Fathers and Sons on our 10-year anniversary.  (He's taking me to Hawaii to make up for it so I think that's fair!)

They went up to Knob Hill and there was a great group of guys that went along.

The boys loved shooting the guns.

They also loved exploring and finding rattlesnakes.  (Glad I was not there to freak out.)

I'm sure they loved the food too because I hear that Brother Abbott is an amazing cook!

They also loved getting their faces painted.

They were given Indian names too.

Most of all they loved the time with their dad!  (I know they had fun because they both came home with ripped pants and trashed shirts!)

Matt let me go on a shopping spree with friends the next day (where I got this amazing black dress!)

That night he took me out for a show and dinner at Naga that evening to celebrate our anniversary and it was wonderful!

Porter had something exciting happen this month too.  He lost his first "top" tooth.  :) 

His smile is so cute now and it will probably stay that way for a while because the new tooth has not started coming in yet.

 This month also brought with it a solar eclipse! 

Matt made this viewing tool so that the kids would be able to see it.

It was really neat to see.

It was also a bit creepy to see it get darker even though the sun was still up!
