Each year the kid's get to dress up for Nevada Read Week at their school. Smalley Elementary does a tons of fun activities and they always look forward to it. Here's some pictures of the fun:
MONDAY: "Words on Your Shirt Day". The kids had to wear shirts that had words on them and Bridger and Tate decided to follow along as well even though they don't go to the same school yet.
TUESDAY: "Poem Under Your Hat Day". The kids had to wear crazy hats and write a poem to put inside their hat. Periodically throughout their school day they were stopped and asked to read their poems.
WEDNESDAY: "Dress as Your Favorite Story Book Character Day".
Abi dressed as Spongebob Squarepants because she loves reading the collection of Spongebob books that we have.
Porter dressed as a pirate because "How I Became a Pirate" by David Shannon is one of his favorite books.
THURSDAY: "Pajama Day". The kids got to wear their pajamas and take a pillow to school along with some of their favorite books for a fun read-a-thon.
FRIDAY: "Dress as a Dr. Seuss Character Day".
Porter chose the Cat in the Hat for his Dr. Seuss character.
He was darling in his costume and he had such a fun day. He said there were a bunch of Cat in the Hats and they all played together at recess. :)
Abi has done Cindy Lou Who in the past but she wanted something different this year so she chose Daisy-Head Mayzie.
We ended up with the perfect costume and Abi looked adorable! She was definitely the cutest Daisy-Head Mayzie at school!
