St. Patrick's Day 2012

This year on St. Patrick's Day we repeated some of our traditions from last year and made some new ones as well.
The kids woke up in the morning to leprechaun footprints all over the downstairs.
The silly leprechaun even used the bathroom and forgot to flush!
The kids set some traps for the leprechaun and hurried to see if they had caught him.  All they found was that their gold coins had been taken and the leprechaun got away.
Mommy set a trap for the leprechaun too with a camera set on a timer.  We didn't know it until we looked at the pictures later but we actually caught the leprechaun in action.  And we had more than one leprechaun visit us!!!
This is Bridger's trap and the silly leprechaun that stole his gold.
Here's Porter's trap and it looks like his leprechaun was pretty tuckered out after climbing all those stairs!
This leprechaun was caught right as he was climbing up Abi's trap!  The kids couldn't believe their eyes when they saw these pictures and they were so excited that we had so many little visitors.  They've already started planning next year's trap designs.
Our morning tradition on St. Patrick's day is our rainbow waffles.
The kids look forward to these every year and they are so much fun!
Matt was in charge of making them this year and he did a GREAT job!
He got very creative with his waffle skills!  ha ha  (This looks like that old "Simon" game.)
Tate loved the waffles so much that he ate 3 whole waffles himself!
We all got dressed up for Bridger's St. Patrick's birthday party which was later that afternoon.
I will do a separate post for that event but here's a little teaser of his birthday cake to get you excited!
The kids also helped me make these little clover pretzels.  I don't know what it is but I have an addiction to the chocolate and pretzel combination so I'm always looking for excuses to make them for the holidays.  These ones did turn out cute though!
We also made some green shamrock chips with a Pot of Gold cheese sauce to dip them in.  (Super easy!  We just used a cookie cutter on those green tortillas from the store, basted them with some olive oil and seasonings, baked them, and then enjoyed!)
Hope you all had a great St. Patty's Day!
